Educational Philosophy

The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering aims to nurture engineers and researchers who are equipped with a wealth of creativity and who have a deep expertise in the information, electrical and electronic fields, who comprehensively understand the correlations between each domain and their importance to human beings and the environment, and who use their expertise to contribute to the well-being of society. With this aim, we conduct education based on the following learning and educational objectives.


Learning and Educational Objectives

A

To deepen our understanding of natural science, and to gain a fundamental knowledge of subjects such as mathematics and physics which are needed for problem solving


B

To gain the basic knowledge essential to acquiring the more specific knowledge and skills required for information, electrical, and electronic engineering


C

To understand the practical handling of computers and networks, and to master basic programming methods


D

To acquire the expertise needed to understand and develop the basic technologies that support information, electrical, and electronic engineering


E

To always be interested in technology, and to develop an awareness to enhance individual techniques


F

To develop the basic abilities needed to apply the knowledge learned in lectures to engineering challenges faced by society, and to solve them by exhibiting creativity in a teamwork


G

To develop communications skills, including logical description, oral presentation and discussion abilities


H

To be equipped with the ethics and morals that society needs from an engineer




Admissions Policy

The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering aims to nurture engineers and researchers who are equipped with a wealth of creativity and who have a deep expertise in the information, electrical and electronic fields, who comprehensively understand the correlations between each domain and their importance to human beings and the environment, and who use their expertise to contribute to the well-being of society.
Keeping the above in mind, we welcome the following students:

Those who are interested in the basic theories, technologies and skills involved in the information, electrical, electronic fields, and who have a keen motivation to positively and voluntarily engage in study and research activities.

Those who are willing to acquire problem-solving abilities from the engineering point of view, and to use them to contribute to society.

Those who are motivated to lead in an advanced information society with rich curiosity and creativity.
